The 12,000 members of
the Florida Pipe Trades today announced their endorsement of Sen. Dan Gelber’s
campaign for Attorney General. In their endorsement, point to Dan’s proven
track record of advancing real solutions for working families and every day
Floridians.



 



John Lindstrom, the
Florida Pipe Trades International union representative shared,

of the Florida Pipe Trades are proud to endorse Sen. Dan Gelber in his campaign
for Attorney General. During these challenging times, we need Dan’s leadership
and passion to advance real solutions that will help families across Florida.
And with Dan’s extensive legal background and experience in protecting
Floridians, we will have an Attorney General prepared to maneuver the complex
legal challenges ahead.”

The Florida Pipe Trades was formed in 1941 and represents more than
12,000 Florida workers. The Pipe Trades has membership throughout the
state with offices and training centers in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm
Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Tampa Jacksonville,
Tallahassee, and Pensacola and represents Plumbers, Pipefitters,
Sprinklerfitters, A/C Service Technicians, and Welders.



 



Dan Gelber was
elected to the State House of Representatives in 2000, serving as the House
Democratic Leader from 2006-2008; and elected to the State Senate in 2008.
Prior to elected life, Dan spent nearly a decade as a top federal prosecutor,
working on public corruption, narcotics and civil rights cases, and serving as
a top deputy in that office. He was then appointed chief counsel and staff
director for the United States Senate's investigations committee where he
focused on terrorism and domestic security.



 



Dan has the
support of Democrats like Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former U.S.
Attorney General Janet Reno, former Congressman Jim Davis, every Democratic
State Attorney who has endorsed in this race and close to 30 current and former
state legislators. Dan has been endorsed by AFSCME Florida Council 79, the
South Florida Council of Fire Fighters, Equality Florida and many other
organizations.



 



Dan is an AV
rated attorney and listed in various peer review publications including Best
Lawyers in America and Florida’s Legal Elite. He and his wife Joan Silverstein,
